Domain Ownership Verification
Why do we need to do this? Your domain is an identification for your organization. Ex: uber.com identifies the Uber organization. Verifying the domain ownership is a common practice during onboarding a business. At Uber, it will allow admins of the organization to provision business accounts using emails that use the verified domain. (ex: domain.com is verified, a business account with email of user@domain.com can be provisioned by the admins) Verification process ensures that only your organization is able to provision the business accounts from the verified domains.
How this works
- You’ll copy a verification code from the setup tool. More details here
- You’ll sign in to your domain registrar and paste the verification code in to the DNS records for your domain.
- Once your domain registrar publishes your verification code, we’ll know you are the owner of your domain. You can come back and complete the verification but clicking on Verify > Check DNS record
- Once successfully completed the status of your domain will change to “Verified”
